TikTok content creator went viral after recording break-up with boyfriend
A TikTok content creator, Cassidy Joy Watson, known as @caesthetically, went viral on the platform after documenting the aftermath of her break-up with her boyfriend of three years.
Just days before they were set to film a romantic getaway in Hawaii for their social media channels, the couple split. Watson posted a video on TikTok with the caption "When you and your boyfriend of three years break up but you already signed a contract to create content at a resort together," which received over 5.8 million views. She decided to go on the holiday with her ex-boyfriend anyway and shared real-time updates with her followers, including a voiceover in a now-deleted video. Watson wanted to give a raw and unfiltered explanation of the breakup, unlike other influencer couples who don't share the messy parts of their relationships. She has since deactivated her TikTok account, but the videos remain on the platform.
